The approximate foot fall of the event was 1500 who all attended and appreciated the work done by the members. Career after family intends to continue these type of initiatives in the long run. Various social media platforms, hoardings were used in advertising the event. It is also worth mentioning that the event had a number of products at the most reasonable prices possible. It can be proudly said that this Is Kolkata’s first exhibition of this kind where the stall owners were putting up for the 1st time.

The visitors had hands on some delicate embroidery, festive clothing, extraordinary coloured decor items, semiprecious jewellery. The entry to the event was absolutely free.
This was an event of its kind and the members have gained lot of confidence post event. They have now their set of consumers whom they have showcased their talent.
At CAFE there is a concept of learning and growing together. Sessions are also conducted by the members which gives them an opportunity to share their skills and also gain confidence and popularity. This has given rise to several new business by the members who found their calling while conducting sessions. CAFE also has a national board giving opportunity to every woman in the leadership position. This is a community working for women, and by the woman.
ome of the common reasons for women not being able to continue their job or work life is childbirth, quitting the job after marriage, taking care of family and elderly, or any other reasons that exist in an Indian society. But every woman has a dream to cross that thin line and have a name of herself. Our founder, Kavita Agarwal after her 20 years of career in investment banking met many women who had the dream to do something but no direction. She then quit her career and came forward to help these women with career options to manage both home and work. Career after family works relentlessly for these women who have the desire and passion in themselves To prove their potential. This not only helps in women upliftment but also contributes to Indian economy in a small way.

There are many success stories born and flourished in CAFÉ, but the most important thing which Kavita is happy about is the positivity of this community. “I started because I found many talented women around me, lacking confidence to start their own thing, despite the willingness. The main reason I found was the disconnect from the outside world because as home makers we get so engrossed in family that we cut all cords from the growth and self development. At CAFÉ we provide them all the updates and up skilling opportunity in a positive and homely environment where everyone resonates with the other’s aspirations.”
Minal who was part of English Vinglish batch was excited to share her experience of learning English all over again and finding her batchmates equally supportive when she wanted a buddy to practice her speaking skills. “Polishing basic grammar skills and doing homework took me back to my school days”, says the 54 year old.

The community is inspiring each other as they know that there is nothing they cannot achieve if they want to. Several initiatives are introduced to cater to whole of the members, who have been benefitting from the services sitting at home.

Initially attendance was a challenge as the sessions were real and the women were not used to coming out of the house for their self development. But as we shifted online immediately after lockdown was announced, we never faced the attendance challenge again.

Recently CAFÉ concluded their 4th batch of entrepreneurship course and 3rd batch of spoken english classes English Vinglish. Besides they have regular sessions on stock markets, health & fitness, bakery, gardening, book reading etc. which ensure bonding between members even in online sessions. It also has its wings in KARNATAKA and power networking sessions have begun there as well.
